This patient 27 yrs male presented with stiffness of the back and difficulty in moving the neck, diagnosed as ankylosing spondylitis has got the involvement of both hips , how manage the problem further.

Early stage Hip joints have some joint space left Sacroiliac joint going for fusion No bamboo spine as such Need more evaluation Clinical assessment of Spine flexion Chest expansion Hip range of movements CBC esr RA factor Uric acid Crp levels HLA B27 typing CT spine Can arrest the progress with newer drugs Rheumatology consultation Physiotherapy Swimming is good at this stage Need regular follow up Joint replacements in late stage
